GREAT SKYS CLOTHING COLLECTIVE

"BRANDED FOR THE FLYEST"

Q: How did GREAT SKYS begin?

Great Skys began in 2016, founded by Darryl "Diezel" Carter in Kansas City, MO.

Q: How did the idea for Great Skys come about?

Like I said it started back in 2016. I was wanting to do something different. I always enjoyed art, I love it in pretty much all forms. I'm into colors, materials things like that...music. Everybody was tryna do music though, so I said I wonder if I could make clothes? I always liked getting fly, so I put it in my mind I'd go for it. No education, no fashion sense at all, besides me enjoying getting fly. I always wanted my brand to be for the people. Quality and comfortable...and affordable

Q: What does Great Skys actually mean?

Truthfully, the name came in a dream. The inspiration, I feel just came from always wanting to be something more. Never really settling, never caring about fitting in, just doing my thing my way. It's a feeling. You know that feeling you get when you wake up in the morning, feeling good...you know the day is about to be lit! That's what I consider a GREAT SKY. Also, in essence, everyday that GOD blesses you to wake up and do it again...you get another shot at being your BEST, that's a GREAT SKY!

Q: What does BRANDED FOR THE FLYEST mean?

Ha! That just simply means, if you got that Phenix logo on, that GS logo on, any of that...you must know what it is to be fly! At no point, do you regress...for noth-ing! This kind of energy is infectious and people know it without you having to say much. That's the feeling you have in GS clothing.

Q: Why does being from Kansas City mean so much to Great Skys?

Man, I love my city. We a small bunch, but there's alotta dope people from here too. I think in fashion, it means that the Midwest knows how to get like that too! We know what it means to put that on! So with this brand, I want the world to learn that as well, through fashion.

Q: Who are the Aviators?

Everybody. You are in control of the heights you can achieve. Never let em tell you to come down...and never let em tell you that you ain't fly or can't (get) FLY. We all got a lil AVIATOR in us.
